While neither SM obtains a 100% downlink, LUID 3 suffers intermittent packet loss (5-10% failure to return 32 byte pings) while LUID2 returns all pings when LUID3 is failing. This issue is impacting customer Internet access. Any ideas? This is rolling open farm land with light canopy.

Thank you in advance.

Tim

Nothing else in the path besides your canopy gear transmitting at 2.4? I am not sure which portion of 2.4 cordless phones use, but that could be an issue.

Customer has no cordless phones at site and nearest neighbor is more than a mile away (Dairy Farm Office installation).

Do you have passive reflectors on the dishes? The RSSI is great on both, just wondering if you are using dishes.

Tim,
On the SM, under Expanded Stats, what numbers do you have for Transmit Broadcasts and Received Broadcast on the SM’s and the AP? Another item to look at is the InNUcastPkts and OutNUcastPkts on the Ethernet stats page.

Besides those numbers can you post the event log of the AP and the SM in question?

Both SMs are installed with dishes, the AP is not in order to preserve the 60 degree service arc.

AP cluster is supported by a CMM (micro)
SM is feeding a Linksys wireless G router supporting 6 computers (5 of these are connected via a pair Linksys Accesspoints acting as a wireless bridge connecting a Linksys switch for the local LAN.

All systems are running current anti-virus and anti-spy software and have been scanned as part of the general installation process.

Hmm....it wouldn't be interference from these 802.11G devices would it?

Maybe, but I would have anticipated RF issues to impact the routine stats and show up in the link test. We install a Linksys wireless router at all of our sites… this one is different somehow.

Do a spectrum analysis and then move to the quietest frequency you can find. Most likeley there is another 2.4 signal in the path of that subscriber.
