Ping Time Disparity

Ping Test from SM

vs

Ping Test as reported from cnMaestro (on premises)

vs

Ping Test from computer from behind SM connected wirelessly to customer router

How can there be that much disparity in results?

I wouldn’t use (or expect) any public service to provide reliable ICMP feedback. Use a shared internal resource, like a router that all these devices use, to get more accurate feedback.

Todd_Wilson,

The Ping Test tool on the GUI is not meant to accurately meausure latency. The software task inside of the radio doesn't run very often. Please only use it to measure connectivity.

Perhaps in the future, we could make this more responsive.

Fair enough. Pinging to an internal router we have several hops away. Same basic result.
