Whats the matter with that radio?

it keeps going OFF and ON.

LAN interface IP is 192.168.1.1. this IP was ping continuously but after about 30 mins this ping will start timing out and i have to remove the CAT5 from the power pack and fit in it again before it will start replying.

please can i know what the meaning of this from the event log

Does it happen only to a single SM?

If you can give more details of your setup and configurations.

Is this radio running firmware 8.2 and with NAT enabled?

If the answer to both questions is YES, then the problem is a known issue with 8.2

Vanilla is right.
You’re running release 8.2 DES and (we suppose) using NAT.
That’s an annoying and known bug still waiting to be solved.
In the meantime the workaround is one among the following:

1) Fix the ethernet speed on the SM at 10 Mbps Full duplex (it almost worked in my case)
2) Disable NAT
3) Go back to release 8.1.5

Hope it helps
Massimo

10Mb full duplex may or may not work - just a forewarning. It did nothing for us and we had to disable NAT.

i want to say thanks to everybody for their comments. but even when the NAT mode is disable the situation get worse. i don’t know what is wrong with this part of my network.

Just a thought - but does the client’s computer have some kind of nasty worm or virus on it? I’ve seen it happen with NAT before where the infected machine chomps up all the available resources on the NAT’d radio. If it gets worse when you disable NAT, it could possibly be spewing garbage traffic out onto the rest of your network instead of getting filtered at the SM.

You may want to try a router at the client site with NAT disabled to see if the SM stabilizes.
