PMP450 SM Strange behaviour

Good morning all, this is my first post on this forum. Forgive and correct me if I'm wrong in something.

My company has recently installed a small system composed by 1 PMP450 AP (licensed for a maximum of 10 SM), 2 PMP 450 SM capped@20Mbps and 3 PMP 450 SM capped@10Mbps. It'all fine except for only one SM (capped@10Mbps) that regulary disconnect every 27 minutes. The connection is regulary re-established after about 45 seconds.

Some of you has ideas I can investigate on?

Any help is appreciated!

Regards.

If it's every 27 minutes like clockwork then I'd suspect some local impulsive interference at the client end.

What's the frequency in use, and how does the problem unit's uplink/downlink dBm and SNR compare to the other units'?  Have you tried a different channel?

j

If it does look like intermittent interference, you should be able to see it if you're at the SM, logged into spectrum analyzer, and leave it running past the 27 minute mark.

Isn't there a known issue with 14.1.1 and up which causes SMs to drop and reconnect sessions?

I would try rolling them back to 13.4 and seeing if that fixes it.

Thank you for your answers and suggetions.

During t-shooting I have already modified the frequency from the initial 5575MHz to 5700Mhz without any differencese in the time pattern of disconnections. They keep on happening, regulary, at 27 minutes interval.

The rollback to a previous and stable version (like 13.4) is difficult to deploy in this scenario and I would leave as a "last resort" option. I'm not convinced about software issues because the whole system is very stable (except for this issues), and the other four SMs perform perfectly! I think tha a software-related issue would randomly affect the other SMs too...

I'll work again on RF environment conditions planning a spectrum analysis.

Meanwhile I ask you if there are some "logging" options (both on the AP and SM) I can enable to collect more info about the issue.

Regards.

Update.

I've analyzed all remote spectrum scans and accurately choosed the less congested frequency common to all SM and AP. Now the link is up since 2 hours. Next update tomorrow.

Thank again for your support.

Please confirm if you are using Radius Authentication for the SM's to authenticate.

Good morning all.

@all. The problem was fixed going bask to wireless "abc...": by carefully choosing the right frequency.

@Vivek. No, Im' not using RADIUS. I0m using a simple PSK with AES chiper.

I consider the case completely fixed and closed. Thank you all again for your precious support.

Have a nice day.
