PMP450m 5ms frame period and SM reconnect issues

We’ve been running a bunch of 450m 3ghz AP’s for a few years now. At the time we were recommended to configure the frame period to be 2.5ms. However recently as we’ve been struggling with performance on some of our busier sectors. We were recommended to bump the frame period to 5ms, along with a contention slot increase from 4 to 5. So last night I upped the FW to 25.1 on one of the sectors. That went fine. Then today I upped the frame to 5ms, and after reboot 5 of 35 didn’t re-join. 4 of the rejoined after we did a power cycle with the customer, but one was stubborn and just wouldn’t join. So we rolled back to 2.5ms frame period and all of the SM’s joined back within a couple of minutes of the reboot taking place. So there appears to be a risk factor with frame period .

Can anyone point to issues with moving between frame period or do we need to visit these stuck sm’s and factory them or something else?

I appreciate this isn’t the best info, but maybe it will click with someone.

Are the 5 and that 1 that didn’t reconnect potentially hearing, more than the others were, one of your own or another operator system still using 5 millisecond frame period when you were attempting 2.5? There are more experienced operators on this forum than myself but it seems that might cause the problem you are describing. Several network updates are not advised to be done one AP at a time, those that affect timing both coordinating internally and externally when able to are examples.
