PMP450x System Release 24.1.1 is now available at https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/pmp450 and it will be available on cnMaestro cloud within 24 hours.
Release 24.1.1 is a maintenance update to Release 24.1, introducing new features and enhancements to the 450 platform
New Features in 24.1.1
6 GHz AFC Support for 2x2 SM in Canada and FCC Regions
Release 24.1 introduced the 2x2 SM, which supported only 5 GHz frequencies. With Release 24.1.1, AFC support is added for this SM platform, enabling operation in the 6 GHz band in Canada and FCC regions.
Although the 2x2 SM supports 2 component carriers, those 2 component carriers must be in the same subband and both within the same 100 MHz spectrum in Release 24.1.1 software. If an operator wishes to control which carrier a 2x2 SM under a 4x4 PMP 450v locks onto, this can be done by removing the center frequencies from this SM’s scan list for the frequencies the operator does not want the SM to operate under.
Disable ICMP timestamp feature
PMP/PTP radios do not respond to ICMP timestamp request messages.
LLDP Bridging
When enabled, LLDP bridging allows LLDP packets at the radio’s Ethernet ingress to pass through the RF interface. You enable this feature in the Configuration → General page, under the LLDP Discovery section.
For example, the L2 Neighbors table on an SM shows neighbor details as below:
When LLDP Passthrough is enabled on the SM, it forwards LLDP packets, allowing the L2 Neighbors table on the AP to populate with this information.
This feature also provides configurable LLDP operating modes.
The following operating modes are supported:
- TX and RX: The radio sends LLDP information and populates the L2 Neighbors table with received neighbor information.
- TX Only: The radio sends LLDP information but discards any received LLDP data from neighbors.
- RX Only: The radio does not send LLDP information but populates the L2 Neighbors table with received LLDP data from neighbors.
- Disable: The radio neither sends nor receives LLDP information.
New User Account Features
The Add User feature in the Accounts section allows administrators to create new user accounts with specific privileges. When adding a new user, the administrator must assign a user Level (for example, Administrator) and set the Password. Additionally, the administrator can decide whether the user must change the password at first login by selecting the User must change password at first login checkbox. This decision allows the administrator to enforce stronger security practices right from the start.
Once a user is added, the Password Complexity Requirements ensure that passwords for both new and existing users comply with certain rules. For new users, the password must comply with the rules specified, such as:
- Passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
- Passwords must contain at least one of each of the following character types: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Passwords must not include the username.
- Passwords must not be any of the last three passwords used.
Administrators can configure these rules in the Configuration → User Authentication and Access Tracking, under the Password Rules section.
Additionally, administrators can enforce a password change for users whose passwords do not comply with the rules by enabling the Force Password Change option under the Password Enforce section. They can also apply these password rules to remote users by enabling the Remote User option.
U-NII-6 Band for Canada region
This feature allows PMP 450v APs and SMs to operate in the U-NII-6 band (6425 – 6525 MHz), in addition to the U-NII-5 and U-NII-7 bands, specifically in the Canada region.
Support for both component carriers in the Channel Change History table
Prior to this release, the Statistics → Channel Change History table only tracked information for the first component carrier on a 450v AP. With this BETA build, a Component Carrier column has been added. The NA entries indicate times when the sector operated on older software. Bandwidth or center frequency changes made after upgrading to BETA-2 software are tagged with the correct component carrier numbers, either 1 or 2.
Problems and limitations corrected in Release 24.1.1
Products Affected | Tracking | Description |
---|---|---|
450i and 450b | CPY-19237 | Fixed Ethernet issues that caused the 450i and 450b to become stuck and reboot in Release 24.1. |
All | CPY-19236 | Resolved the issue where the device name did not display until onboarding was approved in cnMaestro. |
All AP types | CPY-19234 | Corrected the issue where changing the scheduler to or from Airtime Fairness did not fully work until the AP was rebooted. |
PMP 450v AP | CPY-19219 | Fixed the discrepancy where the SM Target received level showed two different values on the radio configuration page. |
PMP 450v | CPY-19214 | Addressed the issue where periodic AFC Spectrum Inquiry exchanges resulted in unexpected DA events (and confusing AP log entries) for EIRP in a two-carrier single sub-band configuration. |
PMP 450v | CPY-19201 | Resolved the issue where standard power SM operated at 9 dB below the AP instead of 6 dB lower. |
PMP 450v | CPY-18799 | Fixed the issue where the AP sometimes reported incorrect DL link test efficiency. |
PMP 450v | CPYV-848 | Addressed the fatal error caused by radar events in the PMP 450v. |
