We are running our 2020RP switches on 5.0.2-r4 and just noticed that we can not disable passive POE on the ports. We configured this switch awhile ago with POE enabled but we wanted to disable the POE on one of the port today and found out that it would not turn off. I have the POE status disabled and yet the port would stay linked up. I even turn the POE mode back to 802.3 instead of the passive 54V we normally run. This port is powering a Ubiquiti Airfiber 11 and we were unable to turn off the POE without physically unplugging the cable from the switch. Do we know if this issue is resolved in a newer firmware version?
Hi Bob, we are not aware of such issue. Can you post the output of the commands ‘show power inline’ and ‘show power inline measurement’ or share the screen of the Web GUI: System->PoE->Interfaces?
I too have noticed this with a TX202RP with a Ubituiti airFiber. Some slight differences with mine are firmware ver. 6.1-r7 and the Ubiquiti airFiber is a 5XHD using passive 24v.
I also turned the PoE mode to 802.3 and the UI indicated that power was not being delivered. With a site visit, I could see that the PoE LED indicator on the switchport was not illuminated but, somehow, the radio was still powered from PoE and the traffic LED indicator on the switchport was blinking away.
