PTP 800 Fault

Has anyone seen this fault with a PTP 800?

"Hardware Authentication Module Fault"

We have a client that is seeing this fault and causing a temporary outage in their ring, we have yet to go onsite to troubleshoot the issue. Customer wants to try and fix it themselves by swapping out IDUs. 

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
