we are installing a new 850 e and have the cambium 10 gig 10 km sfp in the radio, and we are trying to get a link light on the cisco switch. the switch does not give us a link light. we have tried using a non cisco and non cambium sfp with same result. could it be that the cisco is just not playing nice with the non cisco sfp’s and we need cisco branded ones.
we have the data cable coming out of the radio directly into the cisco on one side and the other side is a small single mode fiber run to a patch bay on either end.
when we look at the sfp levels in the radio it looks like they are both tx but the rx is at -39.99 which tells me there is not tranmit.
now it could be a fiber issue on the one side but we are getting the exact same issue when directly plugged into the cisco switch from the direct cable.
any comments appreciated
