The equation is only true up to certain levels of received power. When the received power is higher than - 35 dBm -40 dBm, the internal attenuators of the receivers gradually kick in so as to prevent the unit from becoming saturated. This factor is not included in the equation.
The value of 110 dBm represents the thermal noise threshold and is a constant.
