Remote AP Configuration

We are looking heavily at the Remote AP configuration for our deployment. Problem is, our backbone is already 900 MHz and it doesn’t make much sense to me to increase the frequency for the ‘last mile’ shots. I was wondering if it is at all possible to successfully implement the Remote AP with 900 MHz on both sides (SM -> AP).

I was hoping this could be solved using Transmit Frame Spreading and/or vertical separation at the remote site. Thanks all!

Sure. You just carry the sync out to the remote AP via the SM by tying pins 1, 2, 3, 6 on the RJ11’s together between the SM and the AP. If you currently operate with a single AP and no CMM, that’s OK. The main AP will generate sync, and the remote AP will be in sync with it.

Put the remote AP on a different frequency than the AP feeding it. You have 3 non-overlapping frequencies, try to get the two AP’s as far apart in the spectrum as you can.

Implement Transmit Frame Spreading only as a last resort.
