RV22 feature suggestion

Hello,

We’ve deployed a new RV22 using latest firmware - so far so good! We’d like to deploy more to our residential or a few SMB customers over a competitor.. However a few suggestions or asks:

Would Cambium release a new RV22 Pro edition? 1-2 extra Ethernet ports, or 2.5G WAN port, and more advanced features to configure from router? [or another dedicated 5ghz radio just for backhaul?]. This would be compelling over say a MikroTik Audience [Cambium is better], or other consumer mesh routers.

Otherwise, feature enhancement requests:

  • PS: Thanks for adding port forwarding
  • Can we have the ability to create a few VLANS or additional subnet(s). IE: for attaching a security camera NVR/DVR.
  • uPnP functionality?
  • Basic Website Filtering or Kid control?

Please simplify the managed subscriber setup / on-boarding for the RV22. There is ALOT of redundant information and steps when on-boarding a customer.
IE: Why is there a need to enter Latitude/Longitude for the customer? Let us just leave a note for their address or fuzzy search. Overlapping customer info during Site creation and managed service customer profiles.

We have a few customers where we would need the ability for VLAN/subnets before considering RV22, otherwise it would be NSE appliance. However, the meshing capability is a selling feature for a few customers with limited Ethernet connectivity.

Otherwise, I guess - as long as the RV22 can work in bridge mode and mesh with other RV22’s while broadcasting as client AP it is kinda moot.

Hi @ntox

  1. At this time, there are no plans to introduce an updated hardware version.
  2. The 5 GHz radio is shared between the mesh backhaul and the End-user WLAN (VAP).
  3. UPnP is enabled by default on the RV22.
  4. VLAN functionality is not supported in the current release.
  5. The RV22 offers parental control across five content categories, and this functionality is available exclusively through the cnMaestro Subscriber App.
  6. Subscriber Profile – We will share this feedback with the product team for evaluation.

Hello,

Any status updates for future RV22 feature releases? Like to see ability to create VLANS or an additional IoT/Security subnet on the RV22. Try to stay relevant against what Grandstream is pushing [very aggressive for MSP segment] and Ubiquiti.

Very competitive and emerging network markets right now! Ubiquiti has been full steam ahead since mid-2025 releasing quality of life and feature improvements on their software [finally, although – we dont use their products anymore, yet]. And MikroTik – we’ve been slowly replacing all our customer equipment with Cambium or another larger vendor.

Looks pretty dead to me!
