SM deregistered - PPPoE LCP lost

V4.7.0.1 - v4.8

Radio actually connects to AP and when PPPoE fails (account is off, username password wrong, whatever) the radio disconnects with the above reason. This is a new behavior that only started when radios/AP were upgraded from 4.6.1 to 4.8 a few days ago. From the AP’s side it just sees the client connect then drop without explanation.

Looking around for new settings to possibly turn this behavior off but have not found it if it exists.

So far only upgraded a couple of micropops and they are all AC AP/Clients so not sure if this also happens with N radios.

Forgot, Radios configure to NAT - PPPoE auto - TDD - Separate Management Interface and do NAT/DHCP on the customer interface.

Hello @brubble1,

it is known issue. SM drops when PPPoE re-authentication happens. Or when credentials a wrong. It gives error 41 or 42.
Fix release is 5.8

Hello

We have the same situation. We are trying 4.7.0.1 and it seems that the issue has returned to normal… if it fails again we will downgrade to 4.6.1

Hello @Mega-NET ,

could you send me techsupport files from AP and SM when it happens?

Does it happen exactly when PPPoE session get re-authenticated?

Hello @aka

We are trying 5.9.0 and we will see if the problem is resolved

Thanks
