SOPTO GPT 10KM SFP NOT WORKING ON cnMatrix ex2028-p

Hi
I am using Sopto sfp transcievers in cnMatrix ex2028-p switches but out of the 40 switches i have installed, only 3 switches failed to work with the sopto transcievers, it does not communicate through the sfp and it is not showing any errors.

secondly, is there a way i can upgrade the firmware without using SFTP

I am practically sure that it is the fault of the transivers and not the switch. Transceivers are often either poorly programmed or defective. Swap the transiver from the switch that works to the one that does not work and see if it can see.

secondly, is there a way i can upgrade the firmware without using SFTP

http (web gui), cnmaestro (cloud)

I did that, I used transcievers that were working in another switch but still I couldn’t see any activity on it

The reason I want to upgrade is because i want to onboad the switches to cnmaestro. The current firmware does not support cnmaestro

Ok. Please upgrade firmware and check after again.

The current firmware does not support cnmaestro

Try via web, I always do this that way

I looked for that option but never got it

Hi @TimoWanume,

What current firmware is on the switch? Unless it is 2.0, all other firmware versions should not have any onboarding issue. Once you onboard the switch, software upgrade can be accomplished via cnMaestro.

You can access the switch via web browser by typing http://, and use http option (available with 3.x and after) to upgrade the firmware.

Thank you
It had 2.0 so i used TFTP and installed 4.0
but now the problem is that my switches are in onboarding mode like forever (so far 3 days), yet i have a stable internet.
I don’t know what I might be missing

From that switch can you ping default gateway, if yes, can you ping some public ip, and if yes, can you ping cloud.cambiumnetworks.com (as for dns test)?

If static IP address is configured on the switch, you need to configure default gateway and DNS in order for the switch to reach cloud.cambiumnetworks.com.

Alright
U will do this
