For all other cnMatrix models (EX10xx, EX20xx, TX10xx, TX20xx, EX30xxR-P), we are using:
cnMatrix_6.1.2-r4_EX10xx_EX20xx_TX10xx_TX20xx_EX30xxR-P.tar.gz
I’ve seen a few discussions around recommended upgrade paths, specifically stepping through 5.0.3-r4 before going to 6.x.
So far, I’ve upgraded a handful of switches from 4.4-r3 → 6.1.2-r4 directly with no issues observed (config retained, no immediate operational problems).
However, we are preparing to upgrade ~500 switches and want to follow official Cambium guidance before proceeding at scale.
Questions:
-
Is a direct upgrade from 4.4-r3 → 6.1.2-r4 considered safe/supported?
-
Is stepping through 5.0.3-r4 still recommended or required?
-
Are there any known edge cases (cnMaestro, config migration, credentials, etc.) that would make a staged upgrade safer?
Looking for confirmation before proceeding network-wide.
