I want to update CNMAESTRO ONPREMISE of version 3.2.0 to version 5.0.0 and I have some doubts
It is indicated in the manuals that to move from 3.2.0 to version 5.0.0 I must make it step like this:
From version 3.2.0 I must first go to version 4.1.0 after version 4.1.0 I must go to version 5.0.0
The manuals also indicate that there are two files that allow the update the package and the OVA
Also manuals indicate that you can update by command line S or directly by the web portal of my cnmaestro onpremise
Also the manual indicates that if I use the package file I should not perform backup of my cnmaestro onpremise but that if I use the OVA I must first perform a backup of my cnmaestro onpremise (export and then import) so as not to lose my data and my configuration.
What do you recommend?
I perform a backup (data export) of my CNMAestro onpremise 3.2.0, I update with OVA 4.1.0 and then update with OVA 5.0.0 and finally I upload the data (data import)
either
I perform staggered package from 3.2.0 to reach version 5.0.0 (and what they say does not require data backup)
What do you recommend for migration/update to be successful?
FYI, Exporting cnMaestro data :
Before upgrading cnMaestro, Cambium recommends you to backup the data. The backup files are needed to restore to the previous version in case a failure occurs during the upgrade.
To take a backup of the data, in the cnMaestro UI, complete the following steps:
Navigate to Administration > Server > Operations > System Backup and Restore > Backup.
Click Generate Backup.
After the status displays Complete, click the download icon to save the backup file.
If the account is downgraded from the current version i.e. X, then data retention is enabled. During this data retention period the cnMaestro allows to manage the devices with minimal data (configuration, statistics, etc.). So that the user can renews later and allows to manage the data without much disruption.
If the subscriptions are not renewed, then all the retained data will be deleted at the end of data retention period.
FYI, Data Retention Banner will have the expiry details.
