Hi, I have a point-to-point link using cambium PTP50670
I need to use the PSU as a trunk port and SFP as an access port to send different data in the same time.
In the configuration page, I can’t see SFP port to enble it and for the service port, the options allowed is PSU only or AUX only or both together.
How can I enable SFP and what is the configuration needed to send data separately on the PSU port (as a trunk port) and the SFP port (as an access port) on the same time ?
Mahmoud,
Welcome to the Cambium community. Thank you for your question.
The PTP 670 is not like a standard ethernet switch. The data handling process follows the Metro Ethernet Forum standards. There is no ability to set any port as an access port. You can use trunk or transparent mode for traffic. You can pass both VLAN tagged frames and untagged frames over the link, but the radio cannot accept untagged frames and apply a VLAN tag to the traffic over the radio link.
To accomplish the access port function, you’ll need to create the access port in a switch outside of your PTP 670 link.
I hope this helps,
