Hi All, I’m planning a wireless PtP link. We’re looking at the V5000 and V3000 that both support 100/1000/10G PoE. The switch ports that we’ll be connecting to only support 2.5G. Will there be an issue between the port speeds? From experience, if it’s not stated then it’s not supported.
For PtP you have the choice of the v3000 or v2000 for greater than 1G.
The v2000 will do 100, 1G and 2.5G PoE
The v3000 will do 100, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G PoE
So it depends on the range and availability you want after that.
Both will now do Channel Bonding, so use the link planner to see what’s going to give you the best margin.

A: No. There will not be an issue.
The main ports on the V3000 and V5000 are capable of supporting a 2.5G uplink speed. The exhibit below, taken from a lab setup, shows the negotiated link speed as 2500 Mbps in the Status column.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Thank you,
