Yes, the cnPilot APs support virtual cells (upto 16 SSIDs per radio) as well as automatic channel assignment.

All this can function without connectivity to controller, the intelligence to do this is built into the AP itself.

Several modes from basic ACS to more advanced AutoRF (where channel as well as power is set by the APs by exchanging information with each other) are supported.

In addition the APs support automatic interfernce avoidance (AP checks for interference levels on current channel and if that exceeds configured thresholds, the AP will automatically change channels).

Does cnPilot-series support Virtual Cell in a Fortinet/Meru perspective?

Where multiple AP's share the same BSSID (in the air MAC) for the same ESSID (SSID)?

No, a single BSSID across all APs is not supported on cnPilot.

fast roaming techniques such as OKC and 802.11r are supported which minimize the management traffic exchange on roam.
