What are some issues to consider before installing a Backhaul?

One important thing to consider is the distance that is to be covered. If distance is greater than 2-3 miles, consider using a 5.7 GHz backhaul. On long paths, consider breaking path into smaller hops. Due to FCC regulations, reflectors cannot be used with 5.2 GHz backhauls. It is imperative that LOS exist. Otherwise, multiple backhaul links (hops) must be considered. Finally, it must be verified that the frequency and the band to be used will be free from interference from other sources of RF.
