What are the actual 5.4GHz non-overlapping channels?

The spectrum is 5.470 GHz to 5.725 GHz which is 255MHz wide. I spent some time searching, and some docs claim there are 9 non-overlapping while others say 11. What are the actual non-overlapping channels?

Advantage running 2X = 25MHz channels. You need the wider guard band.

Non Advantage = 20MHz channels

Yes, that is standard Canopy channel spacing/width. However whether it's a Canopy doc or just a general 5.4GHz white paper the actual number of non-overlapping channels is inconsistent. Is it safe to assume that the 1st non-overlapping channel starts @ 5470?

I don’t have a 5.4 radio to look at.

Start at the bottom, then go up 25MHz and that’s the next channel (12.5MHz above and below each center)

so if the first channel is 5470, the next channel will be 5495, then 5520, etc.

The inconsistency is that originally everything was 20MHz channels, then when they went to Advantage 2X they went to 25MHz channels and the documentation still has not caught up.

I think that you have to consider the channel center frequency. Being the channel width 20 or 25 Mhz (so +/- 12.5 Mhz from the center), and adding some margin, you cannot set your radio to the edges of the spectrum.
This is probably the reason why on 5400 AP the lower available frequency is 5495 Mhz and not 5470.
Moreover, consider that in Europe (ETSI rulez) and some other countries you have to avoid the range 5600-5660 because of wheather radars. Actually, in these cases, Canopy AP doesn't allow some channel selection.

Whoah. I never read that the spacing with Advantage APs was 25MHz before. What about 900 MHz at 2x? Is it still 8 MHz ? What about 2.4 and 5.7 advantage 2x? 25MHz ?

Yes, 900 is 8 MHz all the time.

900 has always been 2X so you are safe there - channels are 9MHz wide.
906 = 902-910
915 = 911-919
924 = 920-928

2.4 goes from 3 to 2 non overlapping channels.
2415 = 2402.5-2427.5
2435 = 2422.5-2447.5
2457 = 2445.5-2470.0

With 5.7 you go from 6 to 5 non-overlapping channels.

If you are spectrum challenged, you can turn off 2X and will only need 20MHz channels.
