What is the PURPOSE of GPS antenna ?

can u tell me what is the purpose and advantage of GPS antenna?

Have you downloaded and started reading the Canopy v6.1 User Guide? The purpose is synchronization.

The GPS antenna feeds a signal to the GPS receiver in the CMM. The GPS receiver feeds a 1-pulse-per-second signal to its connected APs and BHs. Because the 1pps signal is the same for all APs in all clusters, all units’ transmissions are synchronized. The synchronization helps Canopy with noise immunity and frequency channel reuse.

Brother Teknix, we didnt installed our GPS>.. our network now running without GPS antenna.. if we didt not install the GPS permanently, is there any posibility that our network will damage ? or have errors ?

thanks in advance brother TEKNIX>

No, you won’t damage the Canopy units if you don’t have a CMM and the GPS antenna. Without CMMs, however, you may have problems making everything work reliably, depending on the quantity and physical layout of the Canopy APs and BHs.

Have you read the Canopy documentation yet? Please do so.
