XV2-21X POE Power

Hi guys,
i’m testing a X2V-21X i configure the device using CNMaestro as always but radio stay disabled.
Checking the log i found that radio are disable by : “Power Critically Low, Disabling Radios”
I’m using a E410 poe injector (15W) and from datasheet the X2V-21X require “typical 11W”.

Looking on debug:

System Power State: Power State Critical. Most services disabled.

             Power Supply Class: Unknown.

LLDP determined Power Available: 3.8W supplied, 12.9W max draw, 8.0W min required.

Current LLDP Negotiation State: LLDP Power State Critical. Most services disabled.

Undetermined Power State Policy: Assumed sufficient.

So seems that the device require only 8w why the device is not able to work correclty if i’m using a 15W Power supply?
After more testing i had disable the LLDP Protocol inside the AP Config and now radio return enable, i can trust in this solution?
Did you have suggestion?

The PoE injector is the passive type so AP cannot AP determine the PSE type at layer 1 and the AP is receiving LLDP packets from your switch that state that only 3.8W are being allocated so that is what the AP is thinking it is being allocated. There is a CLI command “power force 802.3at” (or you could state “power force 802.3af”). You can add these to your AP group User Defined Overrides and it will resolve your issue.

Dear Gary,
i already try your suggestion but now work.

From log:

System Power State: Power State Critical. Most services disabled.

             Power Supply Class: Unknown.

LLDP determined Power Available: 3.8W supplied, 12.9W max draw, 8.0W min required.

Power Supply Class Forced to: 802.3at.

Current LLDP Negotiation State: LLDP Power State Critical. Most services disabled.

Undetermined Power State Policy: Assumed sufficient.

Hmmm, I do think that should happen so please create a tech-support log and email to me at gary.hansen@cambiumnetworks.com. The other thing you can do is run the below CLI command as a User Defined Override for your cnMaestro AP Group. This will leave LLDP enabled but disable the LLDP PoE power negotiation.
