XV2 is capable of 160MHz cahnnels?

Hi guys,

we are deploying XV2 (2, 21x, 22H and 2T) access points to our smb customer.
But we can’t use VHT160. In some AP’s datasheet is mentioned that can support 160MHz but we can’t select it.

We tested on CnMaestro cloud and on premise with latest firmware and we are in EU country (Italy).

Is this aps capable of 160mhz or is only in datasheets?
Thanks

Hi @Fabio_M
Welcome to Cambium Community!
160 MHz is supported on XV2-21X, XV2-22H and XV2-23T models. Only 80MHz is supported on XV2-2, XV2-2T0 and XV2-2T1 models.
May I know where you are seeing the 160 MHz supported for XV2-2, XV2-2T0 and XV2-2T1 models? Please share the link for reference.

Hi,
For XV2-2 and 2T0 and 2T1 is my mistake, I’ve put all XV2 serie in this post (post edited).
Today we take out a XV2-2 from shelf and try. With 160MHz says that config is not compatible with device, apologize me for the mistake.

I have open the post because we are developing now a customer with only two XV2-21x in two different spot of office and if we select 160MHz channel we can’t use it. This customer need max bandwith so we need 160MHz, in other environments we use max 80MHz.

I’ll explain better.
In AP Group I select the 160MHz, and I see also in AP override, but always say that is 80MHz channel.
If I go inside the AP and manually put 160MHz, when I press save it turn back to 80MHz.

If I go inside the AP and manually put 160MHz, when I press save it turn back to 80MHz.
Also if I select manually the channel (36 for example).

Tried this morning with CnMaestro could plain and beta. Tried with last firmware and beta.

Extra question: I can’t find a match between channels number in CnMaestro/AP and a list like this one.

If I want select 160MHz channel 50 I don’t find in Cambium list, I find only 20MHz channels.
Also for 40 and 80MHz channels.

PS: Channel is the same in CnMaestro and in AP. You see different because of time from one screenshot and other.

Hi @Fabio_M
160 MHz is not supported for the country code of Italy and the rest of the other EU countries. You can use the maximum 80 MHz channel width only.
Same platform will support 160 MHz for countries like India, US, etc.

So the device is not certified for ETSI with 160MHz, clear.
There is any certification coming by the end of 2024 or nothig?
What we could use that have 160MHz and improve the speed?

In some envoiroment we need a good ap system with bandwith, most provider modem do 2400Mbps or similar (see Fritzbox) and we can’t beat the offer for a smb customer.
SMB customer = 2, max 3 AP, with 1Gbps FTTH.
We try to sell to customer all the same stack and Cambium for us, right now, is part of our main stack.

But, like in this case, when the customer try out the speedtest of WAN we are limited to 400mbps (more or less). Customer call ISP support, ISP support try with embedded wifi and we are not in best position because customer say “why we need to spend more money if go less and also waste WAN bandwith??”.
Try to explain management, data, roaming, ecc is useless in this case.

When we use the build in WiFi of modem we hit full spees.
Same spot, same device (1 at time connected to wireless system) and for customer the expansion is cheaper (Fritzbox repeater vs Cambium xv2-21x)

What could we do?
Go to Ubiquiti, leave customer with not manageable wifi system from modem?

PS: It is not a attack, I’m searching for solutions.
