access denied error

I installed LinkPlanner on my new computer and I get an access denied error. I have installed the patch for 4.3.10 and still no help. I have tried uninstalling and installing to a differnet directory, no help. I have attached the message.

Hi,

If LINKPlanner crashes before the application has been configured correctly then it tries to write a log file to the program files directory, which is not allowed on recent versions of Windows. This is the reason for the access denied error. However, this isn't the reason that LINKPlanner is crashing. To see the real error try the following steps:

Open a command window (click - Start -> Run and enter "cmd" in the "Open" box)
Open Explorer and navigate to the folder where LINKPlanner is installed - e.g. "C:\Program Files\Cambium Networks\LINKPlanner"
Drag and drop the file "LinkPlannerConsole.exe" from Explorer into the command window and hit return

LINKPlanner should then attempt to start and any error will be dumped into the command window. Can you send the result to linkplanner.ptp@cambiumnetworks.com and we'll investigate the cause of the error.

For some reason one of the cache files that LINKPlanner uses does not have the correct permissions. To fix this:

Open Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\jcox\.matplotlib
- You may need to display hidden files and folders
Delete the "fontList.cache" file
Start LINKPlanner

The cache file will be recreated when LINKPlanner starts and it should then have the correct permissions.

Ola, estou tentando baixar o LinkPlanner 5.6.0 mas aparece esse problema, o que devo fazer para solucioná-lo…? Grato desde já!

Hi,

If you run “c:\Program Files\Cambium Networks\LINKPlanner\LinkPlannerConsole.exe” in a cmd window what do you see in the output? Some of the warnings are expected.

Al ejecutar LinkplannerConsole.exe, se cierra rápidamente la ventana del CMD, todo funcionaba bien hasta que actualice linkplanner a la version 5.6.0 en windows 7 x 64

Hi,

Windows 7 has been obsolete for some time now, so we no longer support it. However, this may work:

Open Explorer and navigate to the LINKPlanner installation directory (the default is C:\Program Files\Cambium Networks\LINKPlanner)
Delete MPR.dll and MSWSOCK.dll
- Note that you will need administrator privileges on the computer to do this
