Change CnMaestro Security

Having just watched a video about the Ubiquiti security breach got me thinking that I should update my own CnMaestro password, do you think I can find where to do that ?.

Is there a way to backup our CnMaestro Cloud ?.

Is Cambium going to strengthen the CnMaestro logon security with 2FA ?.

Go to support.cambiumnetworks.com, than go to profile (top right), than scroll and go to preferences. Next step on the left side - Password

I’m pretty sure that Cambium got a lot of backups and AWS where Cambium is stored too.
Additionally, you can import all configurations to Json files

Hi @TECHSTATIC, welcome to the community. The first implementation will be TOTP (applications like Google Authenticator, Authy etc.). We may look at U2F/WebAuthn further down the line, but I think TOTP is worth doing first as most people already have TOTP-capable devices. As for SSO against external providers, we have had some early discussions about this, but we don’t have any concrete plans right now.

Whilst not new to Cambium & taking security very seriously I’ve never really thought about changing my Cambium Password until now after Watching the Ubiquiti video on Youtube https://youtu.be/EhC_JgXjoBg

Thanks for this I’ve never really played with Json files i’ll have to have a play over this Easter break in Aust.

Re CnMaestro logon security with 2FA ?

Someone else posted a reply apparently it’s being looked at I really think that this needs to be fast tracked it’s standard for just about every other logon.

Cambium’s Single-Sign-On system, which is used by cnMaestro, our Learning Management System and the Cambium Community, supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security. What is Multi-Factor Authentication? MFA means providing more than one type of “evidence” when logging in to your account. The usual types of evidence are: something you know (for example, a password) something you have (for example, a physical token or an app on a phone that generates time-based passcodes…
