Golden Config and auto Firmware Updating

We are using a custom generated golden config file, and are pushing SM’s from ICC to the assigned color code, authentication settings, etc for new 450 SMs.

I would like to auto-approve and auto-update the firmware for SMs. I’ve been able to auto-approve them in cnMaestro with auto-provisioning, and cnMaestro attempts to update the firmware, but it fails due to the golden config forcing a reboot to apply the configuration. The update does not retry when the SM comes back online in a regular connected (non ICC) state.

I could disable reboot-required in the config, and this would work if the firmware needed to update, but if not, the SM would be stuck in ICC and require a manual update.

Is there any way to keep these from conflicting? or can auto-retry be set for updating onboarded devices?
