Is it possible to use a proxy server for devices that don’t have direct access to the internet?
I see reference to using a proxy server in the release notes. How is this configured on the radio?
Proxy Server is not supported yet in 5.7.0 version.
We are considering it for implementation in the further firmware versions if it complies with FCC rules.
Thanks.
What is the recommended solution to allow APs and SMs to communicate with the AFC without proxy server?
also, if we assign ipv6 management IPs, will they be able to communicate with AFC over ipv6 only?
That’s going to depend on how your network is setup. In my case, our APs are all on private IPs, with no access to the internet (by design), so I just setup NAT for those specific IPs for now. I don’t think it matters too much how you do it, they just need internet access. I’m not sure about IPv6, I’d expect it to work, but I’m assuming that depends on whether or not the AFC provider supports it at this point.
I would like to know if there’s an ip address range I can white list? I really don’t want these thing have access to the whole internet?
can this domain be added to a Cisco 3650? I have a similar situation where we use a 10.10.X.X scheme for our radios and they do not route to the internet. I’m thinking of setting up a Proxy server to interface between our new EPMP4600L and the outside world without giving it a WAN IP. If there is another way to do this without setting up a server, that would be great.
Hi @Bryan_Verreault,
we have a guide to automate Mikrotik’s firewall to provide the access to api.qcs.qualcomm.com only. Here
I guess other router vendors can have similar functionality too.
