PTP820C INDUSTRIAL GRADE SURGE PROTECTION

Hi,

Is there already an industrial grade surge protection kit for PTP820C other than the mentioned 600SS protection.

Thank you!

Gerry,

The PTP 820C does not use the 600SS surge suppressor.

A PTP 820C link powered by a PoE Injector (N000082L022 PTP 820 PoE Injector all outdoor, redundant DC input, +24VDC support) with in-band management, doesn't require any additional surge suppression.

ETH1 has built-in surge supression when it is used with PoE, so the top of the tower is covered.
The PoE injector has built-in surge suppression, so the bottom of the tower is covered.

The MGT and ETH2 ports do not have built-in surge suppression.

If the link needs out-of-band management (via the Fast Ethernet MGT port), additional surge suppression is required at the top and bottom of the tower for the cable using the MGT port:
ALPU-F140 ALPU Fit Data Line Surge Protection

If ETH2 is used with a copper Ethernet SFP port, the same surge suppression is required at the top and bottom of the tower for the cable using ETH2.

Please let me know if this doesn't answer your question, or if you have further questions!

Dave
