V3000 backup failover

Hi ,

Has anyone managed to set up a backup link on a v3000 via an axu port.
I have several v3000 links that are 2km away and I need automatic failover
i connected to the cambium 4625 aux ports
how to set ?

Hi @dejangrk,

if you mean SFP port on ePMP radios, it is always bridged with copper port and radio interface.
I would not suggest to use it as a kind of switch especially with STP in your design.
It can take too long to debug.

Could you paint some schema to understand your design? What is v3000? Do you mean ePMP 3000 or something else?

Are you referring to this feature?

You enable it in the v3000 device gui. This screenshot is from my lab v5000, but the option is exactly the same. See the second last option. Using the PTP Failover option takes the port you select out of the bridge. The PTP Failover link is only connected when the 60GHz link fails.

hi,
this is how i linked

this is the whole network topology blue are cambium V3000

Hello dejangrk,

looking at your diagram, if you select the PTP External Failover on the cnWave V3000 at both ends it should work.

Are you seeing a problem or just confirming the setup will work?

One thing just make sure the Pwr to the v3000 and 4625 is 56v. In fact as you’re using the 4625 you can use the POE on the v3000 Aux port and just plug straight in to the 4625. Just make sure the POE to the v3000 is 60W.

Yes, I targeted that my 4625 has its own power supply

will not accept set external failover.

We haven’t made this easy have we, we’ll make this better!

You can’t have the Relay Port set and the Failover (We will get that changed to ensure this can’t be set in that combination).

Firstly ensure the port is enabled:

Note the Main is just being a power port, off or on it will work in your setup.

Then on the DN/POP side make sure the MultiPop/Relay is disabled and the Failover is enabled on the Aux port.

On the CN side it almost the same, small difference in the options:

As you are using the 4625 you could do this without the external POE on the 4625. The Aux port provides 25W at 56V.

On both V3000’s just set this:

Please let us know how this goes, if there are still issues please raise a ticket and we’ll get on a call.

hi
I was on another project so I didn’t pay attention to this problem.
With worse weather the problem is active. With the first snow everything stopped all 10 links.
I ordered radome but I’m waiting for them.
I need to set up this failover.
I set everything as it is Antony write.

I tried to simulate a V3000 link interruption by turning the v3000 but the download from page 4625 did not happen.
I can’t get to the antenna 4625 http://< cnwave node IP>:50080/ or https://< cnwave node IP>:50443/
