What are the benefits of using 75/25 vs flexible mode? as I understand flexible will allow you to use dL/UL as needed?
Fixed mode allows for GPS sync between radios and sites reducing self interference. It also helps reduce the amount of guard band needed between collocated, sync’d radios.
We do occasionally use flexible frames, typically out in the middle of nowhere if there’s just one or 2 radios at a site.
Ok I have like 8 epmp 3000L APs in one tower but I never use GPS, should I activate GPS? if I do that latency will increase?
You should read up on how GPS sync works and if it’s right for you. Here are a couple of Cambium resources to get you started:
Eric is right - you should read and understand the benefits of GPS Sync…
…but the short answer is yes. If you have multiple APs on the same tower, then self interference is likely a problem you’re running into. With proper synchronization, you can drastically reduce & minimize self interference, and increase performance as a result.
GPS Sync isn’t magic - as Eric says you should read/watch and understand - but I’d totally expect you’ll see a big reduction in self interference.
I believe this is correct? @ninedd @Eric_Ozrelic
Yes, in flexible mode, the AP’s scheduler will try to balance the ratio between the tx and rx payloads.
Ok so basically flexible mode will allow you the highest througput to cpes assuming no big interference. But ir you have 4, 5 or more AP dame toser then it is better to use GPS to a avoid self intereference Am i right?
Yes, that is correct.
