XV2-2T configuration

Hi team,

Installing XV2-2T at customer sites to provide Wifi around their sheds (500m or more) and need advise on how to get the maximum out of them( As percambium it can serve more than 1000m). Installed, configured, but didnt work beyond 200m then we replaced with e510 and it gives the same range as XV2-2T.There may be something wrong in configuration from my end. So what are the configuration parameters we have to set to get more area covered(atleaset 500m) and what external limiting factors. AP installed on a roof (approx 4m above the ground).

Thank you.

If you visit the XV2-2T’s Monitor → Radio Page, what is the channel and the transmit power for 2.4 and 5GHz radios?

parameters on Radio 2 (5GHz) was on the slides that cambium used for 1Km test. I set them on the radio, but don’t know anything missing. I can send the config fil if required for your reference. Thanks

For the future, remember that advertising does not always reflect reality. If you are not satisfied with the product, just give it back. And finally, I recommend Try & Buy;)

Main area is the cottage with red roof. XV2-2T ounted on the roof of the other house(height approx 4m). have some trees, but the distance is below 200m and have a LOS from cottage to house AP. but only getting -80 or lower.

You are going to need a PtP link, and then an access point on the other side.

So, this XV2-2T doesn’t work even 200m? we replaced with e510 and same signal level (-80). it looks like e510 PCB in a big housing :sunglasses: and customer pays more for the big housing.

I would like to take a look at your config. Please email me a tech-support dump with wireless client(s) connected. Please email tech-support log to gary.hansen@cambiumnetworks.com.

The transmitter in the client device is not gonna make it back to the access point.

Now you can shake your fist and scream at the sky… Or you can do what I said, and solve the problem.

The AP swapped with e510 since it didn’t fulfill customer requirement.

emailed the file. thanks

Now for clarity… The E510 does or does NOT work in the same spot?

same spot, same distance as XV2-2T. same RSSI level (-78 to -80).

Let me try that again…
Does the e510 allow clients to connect and use the internet, in the same spot?

They both doesnt have acceptable RSSI to get connected at the cottage. Both works about100-150m and clients (iPhone and Android) can connect.

Olá tudo bem!? Acho melhor usar os 2 rádios em 40mhz. pelo que entendi rádio 1 está em 20mhz e rádio2 em 80mhz

Hi @udithas , I looked at the log you sent me. You were using channel 136 which has a lower EIRP (EIRP of 30) than some of the other 5GHz channels so that is why you were limited to a maximum radio power of 21. If you use channel 149, you can set you the 5GHz radio power to 27 since the EIRP for that channel is 36 (see below). By using the channels with the higher EIRP you should see at least double the range.
