I bought 4 F300-16's for small Network and can only connect one client

@Chinmay_K Ok no problem, thank you. Do share it with me as soon as it becomes available.

I don’t really want to distract this thread (which is about non-Synced AP support on Force300 SMs) but since the 2.4ghz wish-list was brought up again, I’d like to chime in one more time on that, and to encourage anyone interested in 2.4Ghz to look up any/all 2.4ghz threads, and to comment on them please. Cambium has said that they gauge our interest, so we need to let them know that we are interested in 2.4Ghz 802.11ax ePMP products! Cambium makes the XV2-2 and the XV3-8 which are AX chipset dual band 5ghz / 2.4Ghz, and with features such as 4x4 in 2.4Ghz and 8x8 in 5ghz. It would be brilliant to see this find it’s way into the 4000 series. So everyone, please look for 2.4ghz forum threads and please comment/bump those threads

I’m not a fan of the 2.4 on masts.
High transmitting power will disrupt the work of the wifi network in the area.
The 2.4 band is too narrow to accommodate large-scale operator traffic there.

Tim,

Please dont hijack a post, create a new one. To fix this ask a moderator to split your post to a new one.

To answer your question: yes you can and bridge the cnpilot ports

A better method would be to not do it as shown in your pictograph and place a f300-25 on each pole and have the cnpilots act as the pole switch. Hopping pole to pole means you will have a lot of traffic coming through the poles as you get closer to the final hop out of the network. By having each pole talk to the main AP by its self then you gain the massive benefits of the APs scheduler to provide full bandwidth to each pole.

How can I hijack my own original post.
Im only jumping from one pole to another that is not in sight of the Main AP.
You apparently didn’t look at the picture very close.
I have installed several hundred radios since 2005. Just my first Cambium System.
I usually do ptmp for my security and access control company.

What is the official release date of firmware 4.7 ?
Regards

Exact date is yet to be decided, but we look forward to release 4.7 beta sometime in October. With that beta, Force300-16 to act as PMP AP will also be available.

Surely you’re not saying ONLY the 300-16, right? You meant all SM’s models - just like all previous ePMP SM’s from the beginning of ePMP time, right?

Yes - All Force300 models, not just 300-16.

This means that we are going to miss the non-Snow season, again
Could not an version of 4.6.1 be spun with just this one change? Even if it’s just a ‘hack’ by changing the LIMIT=1 to a LIMIT=12 hard coded change internally… Or even if we had to use the command line to turn on PMP TDD mode in a 4.6.1.1 version… at least it would let us get going on these projects. If it’ beta “sometime in October”, there will be snow on the ground (and on roofs)…

Chinmay - this discussion has been ongoing for YEARS now - ever since the PtMP feature was removed from the Force300 SMs. Even this tread in particular was opened Aug 3rd 2021, and it’s now Oct 20th 2021… over 11 weeks (nearly 3 months).

And today (Oct 20th 2021) there is a new 4.6.2 version of the firmware posted, and sadly, no increase in the hard-coded association limit from 1 to 12 was rolled into this release yet again.

The disdain is palpable.

Hi Todd,

We do remember that we promised to increase SMs limit on Force300s operating in AP TDD PMP mode, and this is already done in the scope of the 4.7 firmware version. The 4.7 Beta will be released in the nearest future.

4.6.2 is an emergency release that covers critical bug fixes for people who are using F130, F180(6GHz), and F300CSMLs devices. We didn’t take a risk pushing the increased SM limit into 4.6.2 since it affects a lot of functionality and would delay the release because of testing, bug fixing, etc.

Hope for your understanding.

Thank you.

Hi @Fedor when can we expect 4.7 to be released? We were previously told it would be in October.

I originally started this thread and was able to get the system going with a 3000 and a rf elements
Feed.
I had a bad 300 so I tore it apart and I did like the antenna design with each elements cavity behind it… really nice looking.
The gui is a bit clunky and complex.
To bad they don’t have a simple tab for basic installs.

I’ve never used the “Quick Start” menu option but I assume you checked it out and it’s not helpful.

They do have the save/restore config option under Tools / Backup Restore. I have a template set up that I load onto the radios after updating the firmware, it takes like 20secs, that configures pretty much everything like we need it. It’s possible that an installer could take one of the radios with the template on it and install it and have the customer up and running and the only thing he had to change was 1 letter in the SSID .

There are some gotchas using the templets though.
